2010 Conference Schedule
Now Available On Our Website

6th July 2010: The full schedule for the QRWN's 2010 State Conference went live on our website today - you'll find it just below the 2010 Conference Outline.

And while there may be some slight changes to the schedule between now and the actual date, we hope this will help you plan how to make the most of this year's event.

Today we're also very pleased to add Murweh Shire Council to our list of 2010 Conference sponsors.

Murweh are the local government authority that covers Charleville, Augathella, Cooladdi and Morven (an area of almost 44,000 square kilometres!) and they're delighted to host the QRWN State Conference in their Shire this year.

Murweh Shire Council also provide a very handy guide for accommodation in and around Charleville on their website.

And finally - for something a little bit different! - we're also very pleased to announce that Australia's most famous burlesque performer Lola The Vamp (aka Jac Bowie - pictured above) will be perfoming at our 2010 Conference Dinner on Friday 3rd September, bringing her own special brand of magic to our Wearable Art floorshow.

Lola's incredible acts have graced stages in Hollywood, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Paris, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. She's also performed at the Edinbugh Fringe Festival; Big Day Out; and and was the subject of an exhibition by five artists at Brisbane's Rivoli Gallery in 2005.

We really look forward to seeing Lola in Charleville this September - and we look forward to seeing you there too!

What's On In 2010? Get The Initial Conference Outline On Our Website!
23rd June 2010: As promised, we're very happy to release the initial outline of our 2010 State Conference today.

This year's Conference is already shaping up as one of the best yet! Leading rural women's identity Edwina Clowes from the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation will be our emcee, and our two keynote speakers are Denise Quinn and Dr Irena Yashin-Shaw (pictured at right) - both highly acclaimed motivators with a wealth of real-life experience.

We also have a wide variety of Breakout Workshops planned over the two days, each of them led by experts in the field.

And - of course! - that's in addition to great entertainment; great food; great companionship and the great networking opportunities that make our State Conference such a "must go!" for so many members every year.

The 2010 Conference Schedule will likely change a bit over the next few months as we confirm more speakers and presenters, dot our i's and cross our t's. But you can see the outline as it currently stands by clicking here

Hey! It's Time To Get Creative!
Our 2010 Cultural Competition
Forms Are Now Online

7th June 2010: Fancy your hand at the creative arts? Then it's time to start preparing your masterpiece for our 2010 Cultural Competitions!

This year - as was the case last year - the QRWN State Conference will be featuring competitions for Wearable Art; Photography; Short Stories; Art; and Crafts.

We're proud that we have so many talented women in our ranks and we love to showcase your best works at our annual get-together. All entries will be on display at the Conference and the winners will be announced there too.

You can obtain entry forms for each of the five Cultural Competitions on the Conference Forms page of our website. Each form contains the rules that apply to each individual competition; deadline dates for submitting works; any entry fees that apply; and a registration form you'll need to complete and fax or mail back to us before the submission closing date.

In 2010 the best works in each category will be featured on our main website after the Conference is over (and we hope to have a photo gallery of the Wearable Art too, the same as we did in 2009).

So get your entry forms today - and then put on your creative hat and dazzle us with your talent!

2010 Conference Sponsorship Prospectus
And Official Poster Now Available

16th May 2010: After a month of very hard work behind the scenes we're pleased to announce that the official Sponsorship Prospectus and Poster for the QRWN's 2010 State Conference in Charleville are both now available for downloading off our website.

The 2010 Sponsorship Prospectus (5Mb PDF) outlines the wide variety of sponsorship opportunities available at this year's Conference - anything our major Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsorship opportunities through to Trade Displays and Conference Program advertising. It also explains why so many sponsors have found Conference sponsorships to be such good value over the years.

And we encourage all our members to download and print off our 2010 Conference Poster (2.5Mb PDF - pictured at right) and put it up around their local area to alert rural women about the 2010 Conference in particular and the QRWN in general. The poster will print off very nicely on any inkjet or colour laser printer on matte or gloss paper.

Today we're also pleased to be able to release the first two Registration Forms for the 2010 Conference - one for the Craft section of the Cultural Compeitions and another for the Wearable Art section.

These forms explain the rules that surround each competition as well as the 2010 entry fees (still a pittance!). And if you download, complete and return them as soon as you can they'll give you plenty of time to start preparing a masterpiece that will dazzle us all.

All these documents are also available on the Conference Forms page of our website. We'll advise you as soon as additional forms are posted for downloading too.

Get Set For The
Biggest And Best
QRWN State Conference Yet!

12th April 2010: The QRWN's 2010 State Conference will be held at Charleville in western Queensland on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th September 2010.

Last year's State Conference in Toowoomba drew a very big crowd. And this year's event will provide members, their partners, friends, associates, sponsors and supporters with an equally motivational and challenging two days.

The theme of our 2010 Conference is "Building The Woman" - appropriate given the years of drought many have had to work through - and our guest speakers, workshops, trade displays, marketplace participants and partners program will all be addressing it in interesting and thought-provoking ways.

We've just released our 2010 Conference Prospectus and you can expect to see more information about this year's event added to our website as soon as it becomes available. But in the meantime, mark the dates in your diary now!

Photo: The 2010 State Conference venue is at historic Charleville Racecourse, which is right on the edge of town next to the airport (handy if you want to fly in!). You can also get to Charleville by rail on the Westlander, or drive there - Charleville is the terminus for the Warrego Highway.
