BridgIT

BridgIT was an Internet and email training project that was initially funded through the Federal Government's Networking the Nation initiative; and then after that program ceased in 2003, by Telstra Country Wide and Apple Computers Australia.

BridgIT aimed to bridge the gap that existed at that time between rural women having access to a modern telecommunications infrastructure and being able to utilize it effectively.

The core business of the BridgIT program was to deliver email and Internet training services to clients in their own homes.

However, over time the services provided by the BridgIT Project expanded to include support beyond training sessions, and these services continued to be delivered throughout rural Queensland until the program ceased in 2005.
